Oxy acetylene torch, preheat.....( dull cherry glow for 3-4 minutes or 500 degrees for longer in an oven. ) Then arc weld with nickel rod........ Did a lot of cast iron weld repairs on my wife's Chandler and price printing presses....

Needle scaler works well too. Air powered, just dry paint chips to sweep up.
