    in concrete heat at carwash

dragging this thread back into the light. My buddy with the car-wash is looking at a Omni 90000 BTU oil burning unit and is wondering if it would be sufficient to run his 3 bay floor heat set up. I know that's a general questions as there would be so many variables like insulation of the pad...

    pole size

Well you mean to tell me that pole barns are built with square lumber? LOL I havent paid that much attention to them. I have a old pole barn that is actually built with poles but it is weak from age and also poorly built. I plan on having 12 high side walls and go from there with the roof...

    pole size

typically what size poles for a pole barn build would I need to get. Pole barn hopefully will be in the 30x50 range and I figured that I would need to set the pole up on 10' centers. What diameter poles will work for this build? I need to ask around and see if any of the utilities around here...

    in concrete heat at carwash

the room is around 10 by whatever the width is, about say 30' the unit thats in there is good size but yeah, I dont think he has considered the storage tank space. I wonder if a newer burner would be more efficient? Basically 3 months is what he has to deal with and that would be 1200, how long...

    in concrete heat at carwash

Sorry dragging this out but I thought I would get some more info and give a update. It seems after a little cleaning of the 300000btu natural gas furnace in my buddies car wash it fired up and worked over the last winter which was very mild but still cost him 400 a month to only heat 3 bays and...

    in concrete heat at carwash

Thanks guys! Once he gets everything else worked out I will have a look at it with him. There is a big heater setting by the valves and piping but the previous owner said it didn't work. The PO let a lot of stuff go and did very little maintenance, just cleaning up the place and turning on...

    in concrete heat at carwash

My buddy bought a older car-wash and I have noticed that it has in-floor heat but its not hooked up and hasn't been so in a long time. IT actually has a small section say a foot long that is exposed and it seems to be that black poly stuff. If it all is installed like what is exposed then I...

    insulation

a little bit of a hijack but I think I have seen where you can rent the spray foam machines and do it yourself is this recommended and would there be any savings to doing it yourself?

Drilling for anchors in a heated floor

I see these floors with the radiant lines running through it and wonder about drilling the floor for anchors. I am still in the very early planning stages and I eventually will move my lift from a smaller garage that I have to the one I want to build and would have to anchor it down. Do you guys...
