Well, I decided to go Z-Wave with a HomeSeer Zee S2 controller in my new house. The previous owner had installed a basic SimpliSafe alarm system whose functionality will eventually be subsumed by the Z-Wave setup.

How far away is it from the house? What's the legal minimum to make it an attached structure? Some jurisdictions consider a garage attached if there's just a covered walkway.

Cleaned up a space big enough to get my Isuzu pickup in so I can swap out the bad ****** with a good used one. I still need to get rid of the Chrysler that's blocking the driveway.
Subscribing. I had an X-10 setup in the duplex we were renting fifteen years ago but when we moved to the triplex we're in now, everything was Decora so I didn't reinstall anything. We're buying a house now and the market has seemingly exploded in that time with multiple incompatible systems...
Not PVC. My dad did his backyard shop with PVC and had two blowouts. I was in the backyard for the second one, sounded like a bomb went off. My dad was unscathed (except for a temporary loss of hearing) though I don't know how because there were PVC shards everywhere.

Tape measure. It's the whole reason I bought the neon green Stanley, so it's harder to misplace, but I still spent a half hour the other day looking for the damn thing.
My brother has four tape measures in his shop so one's probably nearby when he needs it.
I'm trying to complete the $20 Williams set I bought at a garage sale down the street. I know I can get a new one online for $10-$20, but those have the current satin finish. I'd rather have the older matching polished version.
These came in this week, the light from Amazon (to replace an identical Sears-branded one that grew legs during the last move) and the others from HJE. I forgot to request box art. :(
