mac/proto updated the ratchet design awhile back, they all come with the screws through the back now which i dont like but i love the axis ratchets lol. I suprised my coworkers when i said i love it more than my snapons.
The ratchets arent the greatest. I'm eager to try the new brute but I need it in the long neck version. I have the older version but it's only 35 ft lbs rated or so. Can supposedly hold 200 ft lbs manually though.
The new brute is rated around 70 ft lbs but I dont have much use for a short...
I have a pair of 420s and the little 4 inch channel locks. Picked these up yesterday. Small oil filter pliers for work and the 6 inch cutters for my wife.
Bringing it back from the dead. I cleaned my favorite 1/4 drive ratchet today. Pretty sure I found it at a pawn shop many years ago and just couldnt leave it. I havent found anything like it and I'm glad I grabbed it. Smooth as silk and has never let me down. It's the most handy damn ratchet...
i love my trusty cook hammers..
those protos are still 106 on amazon on my end. look for them in the stanley flavor. they might be a bit cheaper with the stanley name vs proto or mac.
I know it's not the same but I use chrome extensions mainly craftsman, and harbor freight wobbles on my snapon 3/8 14.4 impact daily at a kubota dealership. Havent broken anything yet. I think you would be just fine.
snapons have been out for more than a few years now. they use a cam setup.
side note. my tekton stubbys sae/metric and usa made nut pliers came in. Just waiting on my 4 way wrenches to come in. probably closer to the end of the year for those though.
I just ordered a set of the sae angle head wrenches for work. Havent found any good reviews of them. They are up to 200 for metric or 240 for sae but you can get them for 5% off if you buy the gift cards between now and Christmas and then use them as payment. I'm pretty excited and cant wait...
I normally try to use 3/8 for everything but when I absolutely need 1/4" this is the set I use. Just because its convenient and has everything i would need. You can usually find them fairly cheap on ebay.

I just got my tekton stubby both sae and metric in yesterday. I am very suprised by their quality and chrome. Have not had the chance to use them but I think they will work just fine for me. I also like to buy USA made tools but for the price its hard to justify anything else right now.
Maybe I misworded my post. I wasnt looking for who made them I was just asking if anyone else made anything similar in feel to them. They dont have to be the exact same.
