Thanks for your input much appreciated, the thing is the vice works perfectly! so maybe as well to leave It as It is.

Can anyone tell me please if the flat bar on the quick release mechanism on a Paramo number 41 Engineers Vice should be twisted at one end as seen in the pic? Many Thanks for any help.
