Thanks for all that info! I'll definitely hold off on investing a bunch of money into it. I'm going to replace any worn bushings and belts, etc., but I will hold off on buying a chuck or tailstock stuff.

I went to see how it would work and I think that part that looks to be where you'd attach the tool to the handle was on the wrong side of the handle. So I put it one the other side and it totally makes sense. I've attached a pic. Thanks again!
