I realize this thread is really old, but I stumbled across this trying to figure out how to do this. I used the RX cleaner from West Marine and I had tried cleaning this thing with Simple green, solvent, Tough & Tender and the RX Cleaner worked wonders and it looks brand new, I just sprayed it...
