    Tamper Resistant Duplex stranded wire...?

Like I said its clear as mud, there is the good ol UL508a standard that states: 29.3.3 A connection to a wire-binding screw shall be made as follows such that no loose strands protrude from the connection: a) Solid wire formed into a loop at least three quarters (270 degrees) around the...

    Tamper Resistant Duplex stranded wire...?

That is a clear code violation, I've seen stuff melt because of bad connections like that, usually that is the weakest link in the circuit. I would never do that especially in my house.

    Whats causing this to happen?

I agree..I believe even the heavy duty pressure switches only have an amp range up to 30 amps.

    Tamper Resistant Duplex stranded wire...?

Crimp on terminals is the way its done everywhere that I've worked, comercial or industrial, just out of curiosity how is it done in your world?

Electrical Bid for Garage Renovation, what say you?

Good electrical work is not cheap, the price seems steep, but it is actually pretty fair, the problem I always see is that everyone wants cheap electrical work done and believe me there are many people with some electrical experience that do cheap work. the problem is that later on when stuff is...

    Electrician came today

The breaker should at least be up sized, but if were my garage and I paid someone to do an installation for me I would want #10 on a 30 amp breaker. Your compressor will run more efficiently with larger wire as well, it wont be starved of voltage.

a little Help pls, Electrically "HOT" motor case

I would replace the cord with a three prong cord and plug set up, and some times the leak to ground is slight and will drain, if its shorted it wil trip the breaker.

    One more question on grounding.

You still need to run a ground and bond each fixture, because event though the are attached, each and every one of them is a piece of equipment that requires bonding. If this were my shop I would definately do it..

    Electrical Dilemna

Drill press has a leak to ground as everyone says, but bigger problem is that somewhere between the drill and the panel, there is a break in the ground wire. If grounding was continuous, the grounding conductor would provide a path of least resistance and you would not provide a path. If the...

    help berfore someone gets hurt

All temporary wiring must also be up to code, even if you take it with you when you are done, this includes temp lighting and everything else because it puts others at risk who are also using the power upstream.for example if the ground conductor has a break in it, and others are using metal...

A few questions for you electrical gurus...

1 definately pull a seperate ground conductor. 2 stranded wire shall not be wraped around a screw, per code, 1 would crimp on terminals forks, or preferably buy the recepts with screws and tabs. 3 code does not specify elevation of the floor, housing is usually 16-18", while garages or...
