Primarily modding my 2003 nissan maxima. I know I know... a 4-door 'family' sedan..... but I find them really fun cars, comfortable to drive, and with some modifications and improvements they can really move. The extent of my car experience up until about 2 years ago was putting gas in...

    Compressor after cooler

Figured it out. Bypassed the controller by simply connecting the yellow and red wires. Kudos to "pjmax" over at doityourself for the instruction.

    Compressor after cooler

Thanks for posting. I don't see any capacitor in the unit or on the data sheet..... we looked for it. How would we know if it needs one, if it doesn't specifically mention it?

    Compressor after cooler

240v Sorry, what do you mean by switch connections? Will gladly post more pics just not sure what you mean. If it helps, I'm simply taking some 12-2 and connecting one end to the leads on the pressure switch (which are always hot), and connecting the other end directly to the fan as shown in...

    Compressor after cooler

What a great thread, thanks all who've posted. I've been reading this thread for years, and learned a lot. I have a problem and hoping someone here might be willing to help me. I've purchased an ebmpapst fan, model W3G250-HK19-11, (click here for data sheet) for my after-cooler setup. The...

Looking for a really tough drill

It's interesting to see the B&D recommendations.... I haven't had much success with their stuff, but I don't own the old stuff, only from the last few years. edit: I'd suggest Milwaukee or Dewalt

    Fahrenheat Model# FUH724 - thermostat install help

Well after re-reading my post and your response I'm a bit embarrassed..... as that should've been obvious. I have searched far and wide and so far been unable to locate an in-line 2-wire 120v wall tstat that can handle inductive loads. Is there such a thing?

    Fahrenheat Model# FUH724 - thermostat install help

Hey thanks for the quick response. So tonight I bought a simple 25 dollar 120v line tstat from Menards (see pic). I snipped the 2 wires inside the heater, and used some 12-2 I had laying around to connect to the wall tstat. Here's what happened when I tested it. It works..... kind of. It's...

    Fahrenheat Model# FUH724 - thermostat install help

Bumping this thread as I'm currently interested in installing an external thermostat. As I have limited electrical skills, I'm curious..... why go through all the trouble with relays etc? Wouldn't a 120v line thermostat work? Just disconnect the OE heater tstat and extend those 2 wires to a...
