    Warmboard Radiant Subfloors

***bumping an old thread*** My wife and I bought an 1877 building in northern NH and it needs a full reno including a basement slab poured and the first floor retail space subfloor redone. It's 2 stories with a full basement and an apartment on the top that we plan to live in. We will also...

What to put on walls for outbuilding? Don’t want drywall

I ended up doing plywood in stages over a couple years. I still have some trim work to do but I like being able to screw things to the walls without needing to find studs. Drywall is great too, I just knew I would never get around to all the work of taping and sanding in a 28x54 garage with 15...

    Show your new tool arrivals

I bought an Evolution metal saw and stand and put it together this afternoon. I should have just done this from the beginning and skipped the dusty mess of an abrasive chop saw.

Compression - Show Off Your Compressor

I bought an upgrade and can't wait to do try it out in my blast cabinet. I'm waiting for a switch and I need to setup a regulator but the hard part of getting it in place is done.

    Show us your welding projects

I built an "air filter" for my garage and welded up my own wall bracket for it. I didn't want the support bracket to go up and be in the way of the fan so I went down. I needed the support bracket to fall on the studs for the lag bolts so it looks a little funky but It feels very solid lagged...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT White Mountains Garage 28x54

I welded up the bracket and lagged it into the studs on both walls. I was going to leave the box unpainted but I had moved it so many times with dirty gloves that it didn't look very nice... So I painted it black to match the speaker it's going to sit above. So there will be a filter on the...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT White Mountains Garage 28x54

I've been working on this air filter box for a few months. I want to try and clean the air in the garage when I'm working out there. Anytime I cut wood or metal you can see all the particles floating around in the light. I can't find where I wrote down all the numbers but I worked out that...

Ideas for moving the compressor off the pallet?

Why take it off the pallet? It's personal preference. I think it looks half *** installed sitting on a broken pallet and in my opinion it's a beautiful piece of equipment that will make me smile when I turn the corner and see it sitting there. It will work on the pallet but I don't care for...

Ideas for moving the compressor off the pallet?

I do have it off the pallet. I also have rubber feet to be installed and the drain is already plumbed to the front. It came with an electric auto drain which is a nice touch, just need to screw it in. I'm now collecting the electrical pieces to wire it up if you want to see that?

Ideas for moving the compressor off the pallet?

Wow! So many ideas! In the end, my buddy and I laid down 3 steel pieces of square tube and some 3/4 plywood scrap. We unbolted the compressor and it was shockingly easy to just walk it back and forth down the plywood and then into place. I will easily be able to get the feet on it when I...

Ideas for moving the compressor off the pallet?

I borrowed a truck with a lift gate and finally moved my compressor to my home garage from a buddies shop. I have rubber feet for the bottom and I'm not sure how to lift this thing up to get the pallet out and get the feet on. It weighs 700lbs so I thought I could use my engine hoist but now I...

A friend of mine called and asked me what kind of compressor he should buy. I told him I want one of those 2 stage Eaton 80G quiet compressors. Then I half jokingly said - "If they'll give us a deal on two, I'll take one too!" 2 days later my buddy texts me and says they knocked $200 off each...

Looking for QUIET 5HP 60 Gal compressor

I just bought an 80 gallon "Polar Air" Eaton Compressor. It just arrived so I haven't hooked it up yet but I think they have a 60gal model. Just unboxed it and it looks really nice with a big air silencer on it... Quiet, Reliable, Cheap... Pick two, I picked quiet and reliable. :) Give...
