    Vintage tape measures

I was playing Bocce ball with a group of dads at one of my kids Scout campouts. We were primitive camping in the middle of nowhere in the Mojave desert, and two guys were arguing whose ball was closer. I calmly walked up and said, "Gentlemen, may I?" as I pulled a tape measure out of my pocket...

Basic Homeowner/Hobbyist Set of Aviation Snips?

Get 2 pairs of the Midwest offset snips, the reds and the greens. Don't buy the straight snips, you'll never use them. I use snips every single day at work, Midwest is my choice. Wiss has taken a real dump in quality over the years...

Metal Roofing from supplier - scratched

I've been doing sheet metal for over 28 years. These scratches are from multiple handlings and carelessness when transporting. That being said, I wouldn't worry about any rust through on 22 ga unless it was a very deep scratch down to bare metal. Chances are pretty good that you'll scratch them...

Tool Chests - Why So Expensive?

It's the same reason that women will be charged $100 for a haircut. Because men will PAY silly amounts for a metal box.

What is this self tapping screw?

Yep. It's commonly called a Super Tek and the quality ones will go through steel like butter. However, the ****** ones need to be pre-drilled..

Do you use your vintage tools?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on what tool it is. I have quite a few vintage sheet metal working tools that still get used, but most of the vintage woodworking tools are just for looks.

    What is this?

It's a cool item even without knowing what it is. Knowing is even better!
