    Tools from the old world

As a professional landscaper here, those look like old anvil style hand pruners. Some gardeners suggest Anvil styles have their purpose, but for over 30 years in the mid Atlantic I've used felco #2 bypass pruners and can't think of a situation where that style would be better.

Need help getting a screw made.

Hello all, I figured this would be a good place to start with this task. I have a screw I need to replicate /replace and I'm not sure where to start. I'll try to attach the images, hopefully I can do that here from my phone, otherwise it will have to wait until this evening. This is a brass...

Mini Split with multiple air handlers

Maybe there's a way through home automation to control all the units at once through one remote or your phone. I don't know anything about it, but mini splits are so popular there has to be some way to control through home automation.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I finished an annual service to my echo backpack blower. I started this last week, but tore the fuel line right where the fuel filter ends. It tore because the line was so short, so I replaced it with a line 1.5" longer. Cleaned air filter, spark arrestor, exhaust port, fuel tank, spark plug...

    Lawn Mower Blade Sharpener

My family owns a landscaping business in which we do some mowing, but it's the smallest scope of our work. I maintain all our equipment. We currently have 3 36" commercial walk behind mowers and a Honda push mower. I use and angle grinder to sharpen the blades. I do this once a year, but we...

Thank you all for the responses, I think I can get by the county permitting office and find out what kind of foundation I need.

Planning a workshop and have a few questions about the floor.

My garage is packed full of stuff from our move to our new house. I was planning out my garage to get all my tools in there and have a workspace and it occurred to me that I'd be better off separating the woodshop from the repair and fabrication tools. I'm in a neighborhood and can't build a...

    locating buried pipe

I've also used dowsing or divining rods many times. I work landscaping, we can miss utility to have utilities marked when in question, but they are a lot of times we need to find drains, irrigation lines or old utilities that just can't be marked. I usually use the little surveying flags, bent...

Garage floor concrete paint removal and epoxy

Have you considered a grout removal blade for a recip saw to get in the expansion joints? I've never used them, but I'm thinking they could work.

How to separate machine shop from woodshop dust

I was considering this problem for my garage. I'm contemplating creating a drop down partition. I figure I could attach clear plastic sheet to the ceiling and the other end to a closet pole on the ground. Some rope and pullies routed correctly would create what I think is a Roman shade? We used...

    Anti-seize opinions.

Great info, thank you. It's always been helpful in removing fasteners at a later date with no negative issues so I'll continue to use it. We use plenty of salt here in VA in the winter. Most of my automotive education has just been from other car guys so I'd figure I'd ask. Thank you.

    Bump Out Shed Insulation

We use an insulated shed at work. It has a power bathroom vent in it that discharges through the gable end. Could that work for you in combination with the small louvered vent?
