    DIY Mini Splits

Most minisplits are now made by 1 of 3 companies....Gree, Midea, or AUX. I've got experience with Pioneer made by Midea and have it in my garage for last 3 years. I recently installed a second unit on other end of my garage using a budget, Yitahome made by AUX. I saw on slickdeals for $421...

Yet Another 4 Post Lift Thread - Help needed :)

I don't think BP makes anything in USA anymore. All their stuff is imported. The quality issues are usually damage finishes during transport or installation. I've also seen poor touchups at the warehouse of thin or scratched powdercoating.

What do you suggest I coat the floor under my 2 post lift with - not ready to do whole floor yet

If you want to epoxy coat the floor, you can probably only get a minimum of a gallon to mix. Unless someone can get you like a quart. That should be enough to cover the posts and immediate area around it until you do all the floors. Don't waste time with the non-two part "epoxy" paints. Use...

Any issue with doing an acid etch after diamond grinding garage floor?

I think grinding already opens up the pores and gives it a substrate to adhere to. Acid etch is only required if you have clean bare concrete and don't want to grind. The edges aren't a huge concern as the heavy traffic and anything that may lift the coating probably won't be there. Usually...

    New professionally applied polyurea floor

Looks good...the full flake with topcoat is game changer. Hides alot of imperfections and future damages from using the floor. I recently did this for my FIL's garage, as a DIY. I used 8 bags of the rustoleum flakes and a two car "Professional Garage Coating" Kit with the oil based epoxy. Not...

    Demolition costs way up??

No one needs work right now. Every industry is busy and many people are willing to spend money. Which is a good thing for economy. Lots of pent up demand from past 2 years of uncertainty. Lots of people didn't spend their disposable income for 18 months, so they are doing it now.

    BendPak?

I think BendPak has been dropping with CS lately...most of their products are made in China and imported. They spend alot of money marketing and getting their products mainstream (YouTube channels) but it appears they've also increased prices to reflect the effort and brand recognition. 4-Post...

MaxJax M6K Reinstallation (BendPak 2021 Model)

I just converted the lift to 240V from the 120V OEM since I have 240V power next the power unit and wanted the motor to move a little faster on 240V. Its a simple swapping of the 120V contactor to a 240V version and wiring. The motor is dual voltage already. OEM TMC-18 contactor Replacement...

Newbie looking into 4 post lift

Most of the offbrand 4-post are the same (Triumph, Tuxedo, AMGO, Titan). They are china commodity lifts now and used to be like $2k but since the pandemic, steel prices, and shipping issues, cost have increased. Atlas and Bendpak are better tier with good customer service and QC on their...

Looking for guidance on a new construction 2-car garage with 4-post lift

That sounds more like a 6 car garage you’re building. 1,300 SF. the ceiling heights probably need to stay with standard stud lengths else they will have to frame it in a way that is up to code and strong enough. Unless they can frame 12’ walls with tray ceiling to get you to 15’. other than...
