Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

Don't mind the mess I'm in the middle of unpacking from a 1k mile move! Top is a "stall mat" for horses bolted down for a non slip work surface, sides are yoga mat strips glued on to keep me from bumping into cars and scratching them.

Neatest thing I seen all day!

One shop I worked had a Honda fourtrax to tow non running vehicles around and into bays with but this is way the **** cooler! I mean it beats toting stuff out to the parking lot....

Am I wrong for passing on this box truck?

I am in the middle of getting geared up for a 986 mile move in just under 2 months, and after getting quotes for a moving truck and dolly to haul my truck, the wife mentions that she seen one for sale at the local hardware store/rental company. I talk to the manager and the owner of the store...

C/L Cornwell Box & tools $5k--You tell me...

Looks to me like his grandpa died, after a long nursing home stay (tools aint been used in a good long while) and he wasn't that close to him or is just an *** of a punk kid who wants a four wheeler and wont go to work....

what is the best bargain in long metric wrenches

+1 for the gear wrench long pattern from tooltopia. Good wrenches and a great deal. I bought a set off the Matco truck on impulse because I liked them soo much, then seen them on tooltopia the next day for $50 less with another set thrown in for free.....dang.

Quality carts for under a grand?

http://store.snapon.com/KRBC30T-Series-Roll-Carts-Blue-Point-174--Roll-Cart-Locking-Flp-Top-4-Locking-Drawers-Royal-Blue-P743172.aspx Is there another source for these, I'm guessing they are rebranded? I'm researching the Arcan now but am having problems finding the same ones as the matco...

Quality carts for under a grand?

I've been working out of a little Sunex cart for a while and while its nice and mobile its just too small for doing what I need to do. I don't want to go over a thousand bucks, preferably less, about 800 seems to be the starting point for a quality cart from the trucks, and no I do not trust...

How do you leave a crescent wrench?

I leave it alone and get the right sized wrench for what I am trying to turn.

    best rubber/softface hammer

Why stop at just one hammer? You should never be more than arms reach away from a hammer just in case..... Dual heads are kinda neat I think, even better if they are replaceable. Deadblows or shot filled are pretty sweet too. Household stuff your gonna want to be able to drive nails and pull em...

Do you even bother with notice???

I'm paid strictly by what I churn out. I do see that they are dumping the bs jobs off on me, which as I think about it makes business sense because I'm the only flat rate guy there, and I'm the new guy, the rest are on a meager hourly wage and low low flag rate. They make more money if they get...

Do you even bother with notice???

Many good point here to consider, thanks. I am no job hopper by any means, in in my early 30's and this is my 3rd company to work for. Started with a company in a different field at 18, made supervisor in two years and got promoted every year until I left in 2010 to find a more family friendly...

Do you even bother with notice???

Lets say you left your stealership job that was a 45 minute drive away, and went to work at a local general repair shop because its close to home and kids school and they have a decent rep in town with customers. And for a bit it was cool, but now your kinda getting bonned. Like the paychecks...

    HF torx bits

I've been using that set for going on four years now, everyday, many times a day, mostly on Ford 6.0 injectors and most of them are pretty dad gummed tight and I haven't had the first issue with them. Good buy at a good price, but I don't care if they came from China if they work.......

Fill up a tool box for $50. Go.

First car, first time wrenching.......I'd say funnels, drain pan, filter wrench, screwdriver set and combo wrench set. Maybe some ramps if you can find a deal.
