How useful is a butterfly impact wrench?

I've got both a 3/8 impact and a 3/8 butterfly. I much prefer the butterfly for most jobs.

    Top Brands In Your Box

Snap-On mostly, followed closely by Mac, and then S-K Wayne (not SK, the old stuff).

    Ratcheting Screwdriver - suggestions?

I have Snap-On brand ratcheting screwdrivers and they've been well worth the price in my opinion. I use them for in car trim work, like under dashes and such.

    Bulk Diamond Plate

I have a local scrap yard that sells new remnants by the pound. They come from manufacturers around here that make truck beds and toolboxes and fancy trailers and such. I'm sure you have a similar scrap yard in your area.

    Stocking Nuts/Bolts/Washers Bin

Tractor Supply stores are everywhere. I use the one in Weatherford, but there is also one in Lake Worth too. Check the phone book, I know there's others in Ft Worth. The scrap place with the salvage aircraft bolts is WesTex Iron right off North Main street in Ft Worth. Check the phone book...

    Stocking Nuts/Bolts/Washers Bin

I was able to score an empty bolt bin a few years ago for free. To fill it I buy all grade 8 stuff at my local Tractor Supply for 3.88 a pound. Pick and choose, any size, nuts, bolt, or washer. Also, there is a local steel salvage yard here in Ft Worth that gets all the Lockheed Martin salvage...

    Drill Press Stand?

I make these up for my stuff. It's an old brake drum off a big truck and some scrap steel. Quite heavy enough for a drill press, but still able to be moved if needed. Truck shops will give you a brake drum if you ask. They replace them all the time due to cracks, which don't affect what we're...

Question: What does snap on give you when you break an ancient ratchet

My man has warrantied ratchets for me multiple times, no question asked. They put a little service/ rebuild kit in them and send me back out to work. I have 2 ratchets from way back in the 50's and they still have full service parts for them on the truck. They are actually old military ratchets...

Does anyone use line wrenches that AREN'T Snap On?

My Snap-On line wrenches have the flare nut on one end and an extra thick open end on the other end. Here's a picture off their website. They work very well, much better than the Craftsman (non professional) ones they replaced.

    Buying SnapOn tools

I'm also an ASE Master Technician. I used to wrench full time for a living, after a career change, now I just do it sideline on my days off. I've bought Snap-On tools since 1991. Personally, I like Snap-On better than any of the other brands. What I get a kick out of, is folks complaining...

    Loud Air Ratchet

I agree, I have an FAR72A Snap-On air ratchet. Definitely the loudest one in every shop I've ever worked in.

    Inexperienced needs advice on garage

Not to be a ****, but if you have the financial means to play with a Ferrari and a Porsche, just buy a very big compressor. In the scheme of things, even a large compressor probably won't be a big deal for you financially. Personally, I do about everything automotive in my shop including a...

    Christmas Presents To Myself

With all those British cars, I had an overwhelming urge to go get out my test light, multimeter, and soldering gun. Like the old joke, "Know why the British drink warm beer?....... Their refrigerators are made by Lucas too...." :lol_hitti  Just hacking on you man.
