Thin film panels tend to have lower efficiency and degrade faster. The benefit of framed panels is they allow air flow under the panel to help cool them. Heat is the enemy, and you lose power as they get hotter.

My dad runs his in a similar shelter. He cut a hole in one side and put a box fan in it, then just props the door open in front of the exhaust. Been like that for 15 years with no issue.

That's what I was going to say. Or some place in the north where the ground freezes could easily cause a lot more than 1/8" movement. I powered my shed from an outdoor outlet, and made sure to use an expansion joint at ground level just in case.

The other issue that hasn't been mentioned is vibration. Not as bad with new belt drive openers, but high vibration can be hard on cheap LED bulbs.
