I stumbled across this post earlier, but your pictures weren't working.

I agree on the patent number, there looks to be some more identification marks on the front jaw by the handle but they're not legible at this time.

Recently new to me is this prentiss vise no947. I really can't find any info at all and from doing previous searches for my reed vise I know this is the place to look, the prentiss jaws measure 6.5" and look to be non removable. I'm mainly looking for model and the age of the vice.
