    Favorite Nitrile Gloves?

If I want a glove for something where I'm going back and forth between dirty and clean often, then I'll use the cheapo HF gloves. I dislike about everything about the except for the price. They are good for very little, but they are cheap. I really love the Venom Steel gloves. They are spendy...

How often do you use 1/2" sockets/ratchets?

I mean it sounds like you've pretty much made up your mind that you don't need 1/2", in which case I don't know why you'd hang onto it. I personally try and get rid of everything that I don't need, because otherwise it's just taking up space and getting in my way. For better or worse I've found...

How often do you use 1/2" sockets/ratchets?

DIYer here. While working on my trucks (late model Ram 2500 and 3500), the wifes Jeep, trailers, etc. I find myself reaching for the 1/2" quite often for "hard mounted" stuff (think about suspension components, frame mounted stuff, bumpers, etc.). Past that, mainly 3/8 and 1/4 as I'd assume is...

New Harbor Freight Tools SEMA 2023

Tools Tested! That's what I meant, haha. I watch those two channels off and on and I guess I got them flipped. I assume that most of the guys that need 3/4" are not spending a lot of time on insta/yt? Who knows. It's really cool to see, but there is a huge list of stuff I want to see from Icon...

New Harbor Freight Tools SEMA 2023

I've actually been waiting for that 3/8" digital torque wrench. I recently purchased the Icon 1/2" digital after seeing a few videos on it, and one specifically from Torque Test Channel Tools Tested (edit: initially had the wrong channel) about how it was on par, or actually better, than the SO...

New Harbor Freight Tools SEMA 2023

HF "fanboy" here (well recent convert anyway). Here is what I can't understand, let's look at pliers to start. Take SO of Knipex as the "defacto" go to brands in the space. Ok, let's just assume we agree. There are probably a dozen knockoffs that are like 60-80% there, but aren't great because...

A Basement...but it does have a stairs direct to the garage so...

Awesome stuff. I wish my basement height was tall enough to do this, quite the setup! Did you do anything to seal off the cigar room, or provide additional exhaust/air circulation?

    US General Series 3

Two biggest updates I see are: Second "full width" shallow drawer for wrenches Full slide drawer, rather than the current 80% which makes it a little bit of a wiggle game to get some of the sockets in the back out Overall, I think they offer some good updates, but the price is really getting...

    Any ICON fans?

Maybe HF copied Snap-On a little too closely and saw that Snappys chrome fails, so that means Icons should too!

Yeah, I've seen all the "hacks" and such, I just don't understand why HF hasn't made this change. As @Madjik Man pointed out, the 44" is already a "force to overcome" drawer system without any latches, so I'm not sure why the rest of their product line isn't.

I feel differently than this. I have had my USG box for around 6 months now, and while I'm only a weekend warrior, I can't tell you how many times I attempt to open the drawer quickly only to realize I didn't get the latch all the way out. I do find it pretty surprising that HF just doesn't so...

    Any ICON fans?

I'm not quite sure why HF would need to carry singles in every brand of tools they carry. They could simply say "Icon is our premium line which competes with the tool trucks, and as such is the only one that sells singles". Additionally, why is it that HD, Lowes, and every auto parts store...

Stanley is losing money. Costs and products will be cut.

I didn't read every single post on this thread, but in case it hasn't been mentioned previously, toolguyd had a cool post that dates back to 2017 about SBD brands and where they are positioned (link). One look at that and you can see a ton of overlap between brands, and while there may be...

I'll admit, I had not thought about the dust control, but that's a very valid point.

I feel like the hutch is only realistically valuable for shop space, or if you really just want the look. The only other case I could see there being value is if you have above storage, as that makes it easy. That said, you could probably bridge the gap in cheaper ways.
