Eklind Is Closing Its IL Plant

Nice job of stereotyping... Are you that way with all subcultures ?

Eklind Is Closing Its IL Plant

The last how-to video I watched on YT was on removing the driver's inside door panel on a 2018 Silverado pickup. There were a few of them to choose from. A couple of them were 10-14 minutes long. The one I watched was about 3 minutes long. The guy said about 3 sentences, showed the tools he uses...

You wrote the word America as if you had spit it out. Reminds me of the colt that nurses from his mother then kicks her when she's dry.

Eklind Is Closing Its IL Plant

I rarely watch those uTube videos - and didn't watch this one. All the introductions, weather conditions in Orlando, gabbing away about some **** - maybe your sore frenulum, showing the cute shop cat, the dog licking his ****, etc, etc makes a simple video 5 times longer than neccessary...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Is there any room to fudge on that? I'm 73. Website says my drill press vise weighs 103 lbs. I still heft it around as needed.

Home Depot Laser Level Shopping Spree

This! 110 feet of plastic tubing would be pretty cheap. I added an 18'x 19' two story addition to our house. Made a water level to level the footings. When the city inspector came by to approve the forms before I poured the concrete he asked " Is that a water level?? I was a little embarrassed...

    Wallpaper over luan/ply

The basic tools I used for drywall are relatively cheap - considering what some guys have in their tool cabinets. For me, the two most important ones are a 6" knife and 16" trowel. I loved Marshaltown trowels. They're kinda like the Snap On of trowels - not stiff and clubby like cheap china...

    Wallpaper over luan/ply

I have repaired worse than that many times. I wish there was someone in the Twin Cities that had good camera and video skills and a wall like that to repair. We could collaborate and make a video to post on Youtube. People here at GJ are SOOO squeamish about taping and mudding. There are a few...

    Wallpaper over luan/ply

And deal with all the baseboard and window trim plus cut out for all the switches and outlets AND have have to tape all the new sheet rock? No thanks. Labor wise, skim coating would be 1/3 the labor and 1/5 of the materials cost. But it's your house and your money...

It would still have been cheaper and easier to rip it off and skim out the wall.

Why do folks get all hot and bothered over Wilton "Bullet" vises?

Bragging rights without ever saying a word. I used to have a 6" no name vise. It was mounted on a stand right by the service door as you enter my shop. No one ever noticed it. I bought a Wilton C3 a couple of years ago and mounted it to the same vise stand. Very few people walk past it without...

    Wallpaper over luan/ply

The more I read these forums the more I'm convinced that people are afraid of mudding. I suggest you remove all the wallpaper. Hire someone to repair and skim coat the old plaster. Paint or wall paper as you like. It will be cheaper, much nicer and add more value than any other repair.

    Huge Vintage Wilton Torpedo Vise

On the other hand, I would hate to see this place become like OWWM dot org which so rigidly enforces the NO "what's it worth" rule. Let's say a guy wants to offer his grandpa a fair price for his old South Bend lathe. There the post is wiped and the poster admonished almost before anyone can...

    Arboga-Maskiner Information

I don't know anything about the valve and stem part but I know that Arboga made superb drilling machines. The bottom half of my drill press is an Arboga. The head on it was burned out and missing parts. I scrapped the head, cut the column shorter, made an adapter and mounted a different head on it.
