Norm Abram of the New Yankee Workshop used prefinished plywood so he wouldn't have to apply finish on the assembled cabinet. I don't think the quality of the prefinished plywood is very good at Menards.
But I did spray polyurethane on the interior side of the plywood before I screwed it...
I haven't tried these methods but plan to next time because the stuff is expensive and always hardens up in the can. Some people say drill two holes in the top, one to pour and one for the vent. Seal the holes with barn siding screws with rubber washers. I'm not sure about this method as I...
Thanks, I assume you added the power cords? Was there enough wire inside of the light fixture to pull it out thru the top of the light if you wanted to make an electrical connection inside of the pendant box?
The pic from lightup.com shows the pendant hanger as an enclosure. Did yours come with the two end panels?
Would anyone know if that enclosure would be suitable as a junction box?
Thanks, I'm thinking the next time I make a cabinet door I will caulk around the edge of the panel before I paint it. The expansion and contraction has left a crack in the paint where it expands and contracts. I think I'm just going to caulk it now to hide the crack.
It doesn't really apply in this case because the pvc pipe is buried. However, I did run 3/4" Rapid Air max line thru the gray 2" pvc electrical conduit prior to burying it from one shop to another.
I did not glue the pipe together and then try and push the air line thru, I pushed the air line...
Here is a pic before the plywood. When I put up the studs I cut spacer blocks and screwed those to the building posts. I am usually working alone so this way I didn't have to measure or hold the other end of the 2 x 4 x 16. I had two different heights of blocks to make the spacing come out...
I have 14' ceilings and I am in the process of doing what you described. Above the metal I'm just going to split the difference and add 1 additional cross stud , I guess you might call that a girt, between the top of the plywood and the ceiling. Honestly, it probably doesn't even need that if it...
Thanks, I checked out your build thread and it seems like it is lit just right. I think I just need to hang one fixture up and experiment with the light output.
Also, I feel your pain on moving stuff from one corner to the next to get something done. You really need one barn to keep all of...
Yeah, free so I think I lucked out there. I want to re-wire them for LED tubes I think. I guess I need to figure out the best layout. I could wire up only four bulbs and the reflectors are removeable.
