    Another Wolverine Floor

I rented an edco grinder with the stones and it did not do the job. I was in the same boat as you. I could not find a place to rent an edco with the diamonds, they all wanted you to buy them at $600+. I ended up having to buy the scarifier inserts for the edco and go over the floor a 2nd time...

Grinder or scarifier for prepping floor?

I tried the stones on my floor and they are not the correct tool for the job.

    flashpoint and water heater

I would not take a chance with that. Turn off the pilot overnight. In the morning air out the garage, then light the pilot about 30min before your wife needs to shower.

    Stones vs. Diamond?

For the edges I used a 5" hand grinder with a double cup diamond wheel. It takes a while to get the hang of it, then goes pretty fast. To really get the dust off I used an "aqua broom" connected to my power washer. I am not sure I really needed to do it, but when I was done I could have ate off...

    Wolverine floor with Organiprep etching

Mlynch, I am wondering what you would charge for a 500 sq ft floor. I actually would not have minded paying a bit more to have a pro do my floor. Even double would have been fine, but I could not seem to find anyone to do it that cheap. Before I did my 500 sq ft floor with the Wolverine system...

    Stones vs. Diamond?

I just rented an Edco with C-8 stones. It was a total waste of time and money. The scarifiers in the Edco worked better. I got the job done with them, but they were still very slow. If I had to grind a floor again I would not even think about it without the diamond bits. My prep was much harder...

    500 Sq Ft Wolverine Floor

The Liquitile was light grey. The flakes started as 20lbs of a pre-mix called moody granite (white, grey, black) . I then added 5lbs of navy blue to it which gave me a total of 25lbs. At somewhere between 15-20lbs I had a nice even coat so I stopped rather than trying to evenly spread the...

    500 Sq Ft Wolverine Floor

There are no cuts for expansion. I will probably regret that. I do live in a high cost area. Prices to have a contractor just prep the floor were around $1000. Prices to have the floor covered with epoxy from start to finish were $4000-$5000. With no one revealing what products they were using...

Underhand with a bit of sprinkling in those areas that just would not cooperate.

    500 Sq Ft Wolverine Floor

I finally got my floor done. I prepped it almost a month ago but it has rained just about every other day since then. This weekend I finally got my break and it is done. I went with Wolverine brand coatings and I am very happy with the end result as well as the support I received from Eric and...

    No EPOXY, NO TILE, POLISHED!

That is going to be really nice. I had looked into for myself before I decided to go with epoxy but it was $8 - $10 a sq ft for my size garage in my area. Good luck with it.

    Floor lift cement pour

Most 2 post 7,000-10,000lb lifts don't require more then a 4-6", 3000-4000psi slab. Some people like to add piers but most manufactures don't require them.

    Prep after Grind?

Thanks for all of the advice. I used a shop vac, then a leaf blower, then hosed out. I feel pretty good about the way it came out.

    Prep after Grind?

The floor is now very rough I am not sure what I could use to wipe it down that would not come apart after a few sq ft. The forcast is for rain on and off for the next 3-4 days so I cannot coat it this weekend anyway. I am going to hose it down real good and hope for good weather next week to...

    Prep after Grind?

The scarifier assemblies worked out well but it took almost 6 hours to do 500 sq ft. I had plans to rent the 11hp propane model, but that did not work out. I ended up with a similar version of the machine but it was 110v electric powered. I don't think it was more then 1.5-2hp. The machine was...
