I used ingersoll Rand synthetic oil. I never heard of oil getting black with 4 minutes of use!! If I had 40 hours, that would be a different story. I have a feeling it's what Charles said about being a dark background. I'll check the actual oil when I get home.

One more question regarding hooking up the regulator and hoses: Can I hard pipe the regulator to the side of the tank, then run a soft hose to the hose reel? I can't really think of a reason not to do it this way, plus there is less of a chance of failure on solid plumbing. What do you guys think?
