    Decent bottle jack? torin? craftsman?

U.S. Jack is maybe the best out there. The 8 ton high range replaced the scissor jack in all US military humvee's. Supplied to Boeing, Lockheed Martin & Snap-On also. 100% USA made, not cheap though $. Garage stands also, 3ton & 6ton. That is rated per each. Load tested to 1 1/2 x's the...

Wrench made by Ford Motor Company ?

Thank you ! What a treasure it would be to have the complete kit with box. Also, have 4 coils made in wooden boxes with 'Ford' stamped ,or burned into the front of wood. Scanned one of them, thought I would post the pic, but the pdf file was too big to load onto this thread. If I become smarter...

Wrench made by Ford Motor Company ?

I inherited this wrench from my grandfather, pictured on the motorcycle. I am wondering if it came in a set of tools when purchasing a Ford back in the day ? Has stamped on the other side ( :M ). Anyone have any ideas.

Has anyone ordered from US Jack recently?

Sorry to hear of your experience. We are a supplier of US Jack, and sell their product online. I do not know much about how their web site sales work. In our experience dealing with them they are one of the best. Good knowledge of the products, always dependable and shipping goes out next day...

What tools does Craftsman still make in the USA?

Great post ! I could be wrong, but if it is a tool or toothbrush I look for a USA made one. Like you, I enjoy the fact an American has made the product I have purchased. Might not seem like much until a neighbor, friend or family member loses their job because the manufacturing plant is now...

Restored vintage Skil 77 worm drive saw

You did a great restoration ! The pics are nice. I have the same saw, given to me by my grandfather, sn # 14409. It weighs 18 lbs., but I have used it many times. Wish I had the box too. Great post, thanks.

    Installing a punching bag?

I used 1/8 " square of plate steel with the ring of an eye bolt welded to the center. Drilled holes on 16 " centers and mounted with lag bolts to ceiling. 70-100lb. bag no problem. If your ceiling is not load bearing, no way other than free standing, I do like the trolley idea. I had previously...

Talk to me about VDE/Insulated tools

" If needed ". electricalsafety-usa.com I thought I would pass this site on. It is a good source for insulated hand tools. They use Channellock and other USA made tools, insulating them to 1000V. I have no affiliation with them, but have heard good reports.

    Tap and Die sets

Do you know the manufacturer's name of a good hex threading die ? One that is USA made preferably. Morse has been my only source of cutting tools and they list none in their catalog. I would appreciate having another outlet to go to. Thanks !

    Tap and Die sets

fatfillup, I agree with you my friend. Hex dies will cut threads. As a distributor of Morse Cutting Tools, their catalog simply says, " Hexagon Rethreading Dies are used in repair and maintenance applications to repair existing bruised or rusty threads. They are not recommended for cutting new...

    Tap and Die sets

One more thought. If the set is for occasional use at home it sounds like you just need something to clean up threads. If you want to save money, you can get by with a Plug tap for each size. It will clean up threads fine. In a set you may pay for Bottom, Taper and Plug of each size and not need...

    Tap and Die sets

I do not own or sell the Irwin brand, but I think they are very affordable. Most of their product line such as the vise grips, etc. are China made now. I am pretty sure the taps and drills are USA. I am also thinking they have a warranty. Good luck.
