I just had a 25x30 slab (4 in, 2 loads of dirt, 3/4 in rebar) poured a week ago near DFW, TX. The check I wrote was for $3,475. The contractor was reputable and got it all done in one morning ahead of schedule. $8.75/sf would have been a deal breaker in my shop building effort.
