    New to me Delta DP220

No clue. I imagine there is likely a table of standard values out there somewhere though.

    Can replacement capacitors be obtained?

    New to me Delta DP220

I took it apart and replaced all the bearings. The spindle bearings i bought from hammerscale.com (highly recommended). The pully bearing i fabricated by cutting the original one apart then turning down the inner race so i could press it into an off the shelf bearing. The rest of the machine...

    Rockwell 25-100 Lathe Resto

This is a bad idea for two reasons: The motor looses power as frequency decreases. The motor is almost certainly not inverter duty. As a result it will run hot when run at reduced frequencies under heavy loads. If this was a unit with discrete gearing the correct approach would be to...

How would i do that? I pushed the armature out the wrong side broke the pieces that held it in place. While i wouldn't reinstall it on this press, i would like to have the motor around for future projects. It's a nice looking little motor.

I cant take full credit. I'm fortunate to work somewhere that has a well stocked machine shop and is permissive enough to allow me access after hours.

    1967 Champion R15 rejuvenation

I sandblasted all the iron hardware and sent it out to be zinc coated. The fittings on the high pressure side of the pump were aluminum (not pictured). They were clear anodized. I picked up an air filter. It is from a later version of the compressor but it fits just fine. I redid all the...

    1967 Champion R15 rejuvenation

I made an attempt to remove the rust from the valves. It did not work to my satisfaction. The gasket kit is ~$50 once it's actually to my door. I'd rather not reassemble more than once. I ordered a set of new valves. I pulled the head off. It's dirty but it appears to have relatively low...

    1967 Champion R15 rejuvenation

What makes you say that? The first thing i did after getting it home was to change the oil with proper Mobil compressor oil. I have no idea what was in it before, just that it was clearly old.

While searching for a good solution to the awkward piping from the compressor to the tank I checked on the valves in the head. They did not look great. The bores look great though.

    1967 Champion R15 rejuvenation

I'm calling this a rejuvenation because i'm not coming anywhere close to what someone would call a 'restoration' but i am doing quite a but to restore functionality. This was a craigslist purchase. The only testing done prior to purchase was to observe that the motor spun when plugged in. We...

    New to me Delta DP220

I want something versatile that is suitable for both metal and woodwork. To this end i picked up a slow speed spindle pulley. With the VFD this should give nearly infinite speed control from ~200 to ~3000 RPM and up to ~5000 RPM if i switch to the faster pulley. I'm going to mount a 3 pos...

    New to me Delta DP220

I went to the local industrial surplus store and picked up a 3 phase, 3/4hp, 200V (weird, i know) motor. The old motor had a 1/2" shaft with a flat for a pair of set screws. This new motor is 5/8 with a key. I bored out and broached the pully. The picture is deceiving. There is more meat...

Whoops, I meant 1944. Thanks for pointing it out.

    New to me Delta DP220

I figured that i would start by tearing into the motor to replace the bearings. Square starting cap? I found it like this. Someone has been in here before. Unfortunately, i forgot that single phase motors have the clutch for disconnecting the staring cap. This poor motor is no more.
