Seriously, how big do I need?

the only time you want smaller is when you’re paying the bill to insulate and heat/cool the place. If most of it will be storage for vehicles and outdoor gear, then no need, but if it’s a working shot, you’ll be much happier with climate control.

    Bedscaper questions

I have some landscaping projects coming up. I put in a planting bed along our property line about 9 years ago. At the time, I dug out narrow areas to put 3x4 inch landscape Timbers as a border, knowing it would be a temporary solution. Well, the time has come they need to to be replaced. They...

Interested in 3D Printing - Recommendations and Hype vs. Reality

We hired a young engineer at my previous job who strongly advocated for us to buy a 3d printer. the boss agreed and the thing showed up. Yeah whatever, another toy, then I needed Something and he helped me tweak my design. Hmm, that’s pretty cool. I wonder if I could use it for this other thing...

    Shopvac hose adapter

You’re going to lose some suction if you use a smaller diameter hose. I’ll agree the shape of that thing is not optimal, I’m not sure what your actual objection to it is. i would guess there’s a bit of a taper to the shapes so they inert easily, but you still have a firm connection. if it falls...

Replace Two Step Ladders for Fold Up

I have had mine for 20+ years. saving storage space and ease of transport are the big advantages. it’s heavy, it’s awkward to adjusted exactly how young want it. Mine maxes out at just under 8 foot as a stepladder, so using it in a house with 8 foot ceilings is tricky.

    Plug in Solar - Virginia

There’s a certain dorky cool factor to having a solar array, even if it’s a single diy panel. My boss is very pro environment and wants to find a way to charge his ev with the power from his solar array. He will incur expense to store the power off grid and then use that to charge his car and...

    Quality Dremel Style Tool?

Dremel came out with a different type of cutting disc and mandrel a few years ago. Instead of the simple disc with a hole that you ran a screw through and into the mandrel, it was a twist lock sort of attachment. https://www.dremel.com/us/en/mkt/ez-lock-page the discs worked way better than the...

A new playset for the kids

Ok, a few thoughts… 1. Really cool. This is what we should use the internet for. 2. Only one color? Seriously! What is this amateur hour? 3. Stop already. You’re making the rest of us look bad. 4. My son might want you to adopt him. I might want you to adopt me.

Need help choosing a storage shed

do you know how after a long hard project is complete, you stand back and look at it and feel that warm fuzzy satisfaction? You won’t get that after putting up a metal shed. its time consuming, its confusing at time its hard work. the satisfaction doesn’t come afterwards. i was warned not to buy...

Do I need a push mower with a zero turn mower?

Looks like I’ll need to mow again tomorrow. my son has a scout event, so I’ll be doing it on my own and I can listen for and maybe narrow down the noise. I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of looking at robotic mowers. I’m trying to find the downside. for a unit size to mow about 0.75 acre...

Do I need a push mower with a zero turn mower?

I‘m leaning towards electric, especially for a replacement walk behind if I decide to keep the Cub cadet going. The Honda has been very reliable, although, it’s not seen a lot of use in the last 10 years as it’s only used for trimming around the edges where the Cub cadet cannot reach. Ive done...
