I attached stacked 2x4s across the ceiling joist, then a large eyebolt with a large flat washer. I have small 2 block system from a sailboat on it. It has a built-in cleat for the line, and as much mechanical advantage as I want.

I did this also. Worst move ever. Textured flakes on floor caught one wheel. Mill/drill/lathe fell over. Could have crippled or killed anyone in its way. I would have bet money it was secure and stable.

Installed transmission in the Barracuda. Black-oxided several bolts to get color correct.

The tip has a small rod and rotating disk on the threaded shaft, broken off when I bought it. Any idea where I can get a replacement for the parts, or the entire shaft. Replacement tool is 100+ bucks.
