This is cool. I can't wait until you get the train workshop and layout set up.
Do you seriously have insulation and drywall screw inspections down there? :eyecrazy:
I did exactly that when I finished the inside of my two car garage about 3 years ago. Drywall screwed it into the joists, 24" centers. Hasn't started to sag or bow at all at this point. Oh yeah, I blew insulation above and that doesn't seem to have affected it either.
Ahhh Memories... My first truck/car was an 85 S10 4cyl, 4 speed that my grandpa dragged home for me. I spent a lot of hours fixing up that truck in the garage... Good times... I loved that truck...
This will be a great learning experience for your son, and he will take better care of it than...
I've put some pretty heavy loads on my Gearwrenches and have always been impressed with them. I haven't had a failure yet, even with the "extra leverage" wrench added
This is definitely a situation where you have to put your foot down and get what you want. I've been a very similar position with my father-in-law plenty of times, you just have to say "this is my house, we're doing it my way". You don't have to be mean or put him down in any way. You'll regret...
