I would second Lawrence, we've used them for decades for our projects. However, I'm pretty sure they are just SoCal local (although I see they carry a NV license, so who knows). If you were my client, I would recommend you replace the glass sectional roll-up and switch over to a commercial steel...

You're correct that spray foam insulation (e.g. Icynene or other spray polyurethane foam) is expensive, but it is super high-performing and will go a long way to making the shop spaces more manageable climate-wise (likely most noticeable in the winter months). I would agree with your assessment...

Interesting. Not familiar with CO plumbing codes re: waste lines but what grade is that plastic pipe? (I'm sure it's fine, but I can't blow it up large enough to see).

Awesome. On the HVAC stuff: I would imagine you could install a pretty inexpensive split system for heat/cooling the Office & Conference Room if it comes down to that. That way computers and people remain comfortable/operational. In looking at the photo of the hangar, I wonder if it would be...

Hey Charlie, I guess this is what I get for not paying attention to this forum for a while (in the case of this thread, years!) Anyway, besides my previous review and notes which you are digesting, a few items came to me since then: 1. Parts Storage: Not sure that is programed here (but you said...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Maybe, but I had a 10D top chest that I ended up selling to a friend since I had no real need for it (and it took up too much space), and if I did, I'm not actively looking for anything. Also, the LA CL covers a pretty big region so it has to be really close to me to entice me to nibble at it...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Wow, how time flies. I'll admit to forgetting about this thread for a while (my bookmark is somewhere way back at page 60-something :headshake). I've been living with my stacks for a while now and just recently re-arranged them in the hangar shop. I've been very slowly refinishing them and have...

    Escape FROM my dream shop

Ah, even more of a neighbor. Whereabouts did you grow up? Anyway, any progress is good progress I guess. Good luck.

    Escape FROM my dream shop

Mac, Epic thread, I may have found this late, but I'm in for the duration. Related/un-related: We were sort of neighbors at one time, I grew up in Westfield, NJ from 1971 until I left for college in 1987. Our dentist was in Plainfield and if you recall, our high schools had/have an epic sports...

Speakers for a large garage space?

Dug through some folders and found these to illustrate my previous post: This is looking over at my bay, you can see the receiver and CDP in the back corner high up on a shelf (directly under the "M" in the banner) and you can barely make out the two Marantz speakers on the mezzanine floor; one...

Speakers for a large garage space?

You would be surprised how loud a set of decent set of 10" or 12" 3-Way speakers can get in an open shop. I have a set each of Marantz SP-1200 and Cerwin-Vega D3's in my 40x50 hangar/shop with a 13' high ceiling; even with a mid-level receiver or CDP they are plenty loud enough (and sound great...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

That is interesting because I've seen some that are the opposite: red & black with the older chevron logo. It starts to make me wonder if either that logo was replaced at some point with a newer one or Sears had multiple manufacturers they sourced the chests from. It might be possible that in...
