Great Husky Lock Exchange of 2020

As it turns out, my cabinets arrived with only 2 different keys -- the tall cabinets were all the same key and the lower cabinets were all the same key. I figured I could live with that though it makes me wonder how secure these really are?! Maybe there aren't so many key variations after all?

Can wood tops on Husky lower cabinets be removed?

Definitive answer is yes, you certainly can remove the pre-mounted wood tops on the Husky cabinets (they are just held by 4 screws, accessible from inside the cabinet.) I did that and replace with a solid worktop across all three, which was available at Home Depot specifically for that purpose.

Latest update on changes to my condo garage, here I am installing a solid workbench top, replacing a dented cabinet, and adding some trim boards. Really happy with how it turned out!

Can wood tops on Husky lower cabinets be removed?

Figured I should update this thread, while I haven't yet swapped out the single top across all 3 cabinets, the original tops are simply mounted with 4 screws from underneath inside the cabinet -- so they should be very easy to remove when the time comes. (Waiting on one replacement cabinet which...

    Condo garage makeover

Note: post was a structural part of the building supporting 2 floors above, so while lots of people advised me on options to remove it, none of them had worked on condos before and didn't think through the load bearing of an entire building. Sure it could have probably been done but wasn't worth...

Yes, the building is interesting but not too uncommon for high end condos in the suburbs of San Francisco. It was built in the 1980s I believe, 6 of the units are all around 1400 - 1600 sq ft (2 units per floor, separated by a hallway so you don't share any walls) and a penthouse that is...

Thanks for the feedback! It's funny, I actually edited out from the video a short section about working on cars in the garage. Our building is small, only 7 units. So overall it's pretty lax on this. I also am the youngest person in the building by probably 30 years so I tend to help out a lot...

    Condo garage makeover

Inspired by this group, I decided to upgrade my parking area in my shared, underground condominium garage. Sound crazy? Maybe a little! After 12 years, I realized that thinking about that space in a traditional sense was more a limiting factor than it should be. After all, there were existing...

Can wood tops on Husky lower cabinets be removed?

Hmm, not the best photos but from the Home Depot site the "heavy duty welded cabinets" don't appear to have the tops recessed. I guess I'll just have to see when they show up if nobody has firsthand experience with these particular ones?

Great Husky Lock Exchange of 2020

Uh oh...I just ordered 9 husky cabinets and called their customer service prior to ordering to ask this exact question. They told me they can send me new locks once the cabinets arrive?! Still waiting on the cabinets but I hope I'm not geared up for disappointment.
