today i picked up a 1/2 hp craftsman grinder 397.19441. i got it at my local pawn shop for $70 it runs and looks like new been taken care very well. i looked on the bottom for a date code it showed 6160A. is there a way i can decode it?

my big concern is the vise grip is it usa made or china?

that was actually my next step i was just hoping someone has used or seen this tool before

there are no numbers the bends look to be made by the company. i imagine it is an auto tool

i got this tool with a whole bunch of usa made tools from one of my favorie thrift stores. this tool is the only one in the pile that i cannot figure out what it is. the brand is rimac and says made in the usa. please help :)

i have this exact box i got it for a really cheap price. i like it the draws open nice i have had zero problems and a bonus is the drawers have liners

well i bought new screws and hardware for the vise and found it was standard size not metric did the chinese use standard hardware back in the day?

that is my feeling about it also. i have a usa built ridgid for the heavy stuff when needed. i will clean this up give it a quick coat of paint and use it and enjoy for how long it will last.

well i got tons of paint that just sits around so i want it to look half way better. as for the hole it doesnt bother me i am gonna use some metal filler putty on it. i am always looking for more vises. my feeling is i got 2 vises for $40 that is not bad :)
