I got a MacGyver idea for a home built AC unit

That's odd. Our well water is a flat 50 degrees, year round. I also agree with the fin tube idea. Unless you bought a radiator new, I wouldn't recycle that water. Now you have me thinking about this. I have 30 trees that require around 1 hour of water per day. This would be a great way...

    Garage Door Opener

If you are buying the one at Sears, they also have the kit to convert to an 8' door. It comes with the rail extension and a new belt. I just bought mine yesterday, the kit was $47.99. JR

Belt Drive vs. Chain Drive vs. Screw Drive

My wife is bugging the **** out of me to put in a garage door opener for her. I keep telling her the current model I have is much cheaper (her arms). From everyone I have talked to, I think I want to go with either a belt or chain drive. The noise either way will not bother me, this is a...

Running wire to panel in garage: What gauge

BMW, more than likely, your service was oversized to start with. If I am running a 100 amp service, I will pull #2. #3 is not very common in my area. Check the type of wire, this will answer most of your questions.

    Finishing my garage shell, advice/tips?

You would have to upsize the meter, well, you would here in the US. Then you would have to set a disconnect right next to the meter. In my area, the power company normally sizes the wire that they run to homes larger than what is actually needed according to their code. They run on a...

    Finishing my garage shell, advice/tips?

Another option would be to increase the size of your meter can, use double lugs, come off of that to the house and also to a disconnect for the garage. From the disconnect, run out to the garage panel. Panel size is going to depend on what you are going to use out in your garage. You...

    Finishing my garage shell, advice/tips?

Electrical pricing will depend on your area. If you are new to the area, try talking to your neighbors. Get estimates from a few electrical companies. In my area, you are only allowed to add a seperate service to your garage if it is going to be used for commercial purposes and it comes in a...

    My new building.

The building was put up by Pioneer Pole Buildings. They are located in Schuykill Haven, PA. They were really good to work with. Everything they said they would do, they did and in the time they said that they would do it.
