I've found the paint pen colors (except for black, and maybe white) do not match the original colors of the tags..

You can remove the old stickers VERY CAREFULLY, by heating with steam from your tea pot. Slowly catch an edge with something forgiving, (I use my finger nail) and don't pull on it!!,, slowly slip more and more fingernail under the edge till it starts to lift.
