    The official work place thread

Yeah It's pretty crazy. I've been in it for about 7 years now and things have changed a ton just in that short time. It can be very high pressure at times. We are constantly challenged to better ourselves as a maintenance organization and that keeps us plenty busy even when we're not fixing...

Squirrel cage fan. How'd you mount yours?

I've got one and need to mount it up soon. I'm still wiring and haven't got any insulation up yet so still just open studs. Ideas?

Advise: Vise Mount - Left or Right?

I'm right handed but mine's going on the left front corner because that's where I'll have more open space to clamp down large objects. I'd probably put it on the right if the beer fridge wasn't tight against the right side of the bench.

That's So AWESOME! I work in a cleanroom for a semiconductor manufacturer as an equipment technician. No pics because everything is proprietary and I'd like to keep my job for awhile but you can google image "semiconductor fab" and pretty much get the idea. Cool environment though...

    Grounding electrode at detached garage

OK two grounding rods hooked in series 6 feet apart. Is there a certain type of wire I should be using? The bare stranded copper stuff ok?

    Grounding electrode at detached garage

Do I need to wire the rods in parallel to the ground bar, or should they be wired in series to the ground bar? Or does it matter?

    Grounding electrode at detached garage

Guys, I'm not an electrical code guru so I call upon you for some help. I've searched around and although there seems to be a lot of info out there i've found conflicting answers on this. I'm pretty sure I need a to drive a grounding conductor into the ground for my detached garage. The...

Napa or Parts-Plus stores for most stuff. Once in awhile I'll go to O'Rielly's or Auto Zone for light bulbs and stuff.

Working on your own - DICEY but FUN!

I also pulled or pushed (can't remember how I ended up doing it) a rented core plug aerator up two ramps into the back of my truck last summer. I was easily a couple hundred pounds. Probably a bit unsafe for me, my truck, and the aerator but I got it done without incident.

    Stem Wall question

I'm not not worried about the structural integrity of the wall at all. Most of the blocks are intact and some actually look really good for thier age. I'm not sure what would have caused only a few of them to crumble other than poor block quality. Anyway, I was also thinking patching would be...
