What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Not today but yesterday finished the plumbing in my new bathroom in my shop I built a year ago. Can't see it in the pic but there's a small water heater tucked in behind that sink so even has hot water. Man, it is sooooo nice not to have to run to the...

    Planning a garage 36x48

I am a contractor and I just had a pole building built last year. 33X46 with 12' ceilings for lift, insulated, 6" concrete, 96 T8 flourescent bulbs, outlets every 6 foot, 3 big overhead doors, plumbing and running water and bathroom and it was still 10 grand cheaper then stick building one with...

    Car lift recommendations?

I've got a Rotary brand, actual Rotary. My ceilings are 12' from concrete to rafters and it fits just fine. It's a SPOA9. Love my lift. It's worked flawlessly.

    Lift question

If you have 14'6" you'll have zero issues. I have a Rotary 9000lb lift and my shop is 12' from concrete to bottom of rafters. I can lift my full size truck higher than I need it without problems. It'll go up plenty high.

    Whats above your bench??

I use mine for auto resto and repair and for me it's hard to beat peg board. All my most commonly used tools are right there handy. My small parts, etc. are kept in cabinets.

Best way to put carbs in long term storage

Personally, if it were mine I'd top it off with fresh gas and stabil and store it. Get it out at least once a year and start it and run it for a while. Then top with fresh gas and stabil again and store again. I do that with my emergency generator and it starts and runs as good as the day I...

    Reflection in TV

Like above, I planned my lights and switches around the Tv and I have a full motion mounted up high as well. I can just shut some lights off. I love my TV in the shop and it doesn't slow my progress down at all. Sometimes I'll watch/listen to speed, pinks, drag racing, any car shows while...

    36 x 50

When I did mine, I figured it both ways because I was going to frame my own. It was cheaper for me to go post frame and let the company build it, even taking into account saving money on my labor, so I let them do it. Mine is a Cleary Building.

    36 x 50

You can do either. It's no problem spanning that with trusses, heck you can go farther, they'll just design the truss for it. I just finished a 33X46 pole building with concrete and I love it. I used the 2" condensation blanket for insulation and don't plan on finishing mine inside, I like it...

Gap Under Door Threshold...What to Fill With?

Just shim the gap accordingly with door shims so the threshold rests on the shims. Then use door and window minimal expanding foam to fill it in and seal it.

Which car lift should I get? Recommendations Requested

I paid $1200 for my Rotary used but refurbished with new hoses and fully serviced:beer: Thought I did good but I sure wish I could catch the butler that ran off with that wheel barrow:evil:

Which car lift should I get? Recommendations Requested

Yeah, you're right, I guess I forgot that Rotary now has the Revolution. That's not what I have. Mine is the commercial line but I got it used. The local company sells Rotary and my unit was a unit out of a local dealership that went to a bigger one. Mines the 9000 lb. and I love it.

Which car lift should I get? Recommendations Requested

Rotary myself and absolutely love it. Local company here sells and installs them and their customer service is awesome. Haven't had any problems with it so can't comment on customer service other that installation.

    Fastening Sill plates to concrete

Again it's an old thread but I can't stop myself, lol. I have a Hilti gun and until I bought it couldn't understand how good they are. Heck even for load bearing walls. We anchor basement walls to the floor every house with a Hilti gun. The key to making them work is keeping them clean and...
