I am glad I found this thread! While I was traveling out of state this week I received a 5 am phone call from a neighbor telling me that my shop garage door was open. They were concerned since they rarely see the door open and never see the door open unless my truck or Tahoe is in the driveway...
I assume you will be widening the building on the side, if so I would keep the same roof line. Since it is a new building it will match better. Keep up posted on how it goes.
I am planning on adding a 16'x60' extension on my old Morton building, built in 1995. I contacted them last week and...
I've got both a Direct Lift and a BendPak. The BendPak is definitely a higher quality lift but the Direct Lift had been fine. I do like that the Direct Lift does not require air pressure to release the locks.
This may be an extreme from a climate stand point but at least it is a point of reference for you. I'm in the Fort Worth area and installed two mini-splits systems in my shop which is 54'x72' with 12' side walls and 22' peak ceiling (open). The month of august where temps were a low in the mid...

Yes, that is my Judge. I've been a Pontiac guy since high school but love all muscle cars.
I got the mini-splits up and running today. I was amazed at how fast they cooled down the 3,900 sf area. Its 100 degree today and the inside of my shop is at 70 degree. The contractor I hired to complete...
I also purchased the "Line-Hide" from eComfort. The straight pieces come in 6.5' lengths. I'm unsure which line is the "liquid line" but regardless both of my lines are insulated there full length.
The walls of my shop are insulated with 6" vinyl faced fiberglass insulation with an R value of 19. The roof has 2" of polystyrene (Styrofoam) and 6" vinyl faced fiberglass insulation.
My door is a 12'x12' insulated panel door. I added a rubber seal to the top of the door and the side seal up...
