Vintage Sun Distributor Tester ID help wanted

You are correct about condensers not being voltage sensitive; but it's not about the voltage on the condenser... it's about the current flow and capacity of the condenser regardless of the voltage. http://www.bubbasignition.com/condensors.html

Vintage Sun Distributor Tester ID help wanted

Points are not voltage sensitive; Coils are... you have to use a balanced system, coil, ballast resistor and condenser.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Here's a few... I didn't take any pictures while I had it all torn apart. I didn't do a restoration on it; just clean, re-lube and adjust with new leather belts and dust boot. Still have to get the drive belts aligned better as the motor's been replaced in the past. They got it close enough to...

    Shop air lines

Just today finished up with the copper airlines in my rented shop. Not a large system; so the expense wasn't bad... besides, I've been working with copper for 40+ years and kind of like working with it.

Grease/protectant on battery terminals - yea or nay?

If it's a conventional lead-acid battery I just put some grease on the post and cable clamp after installation; I've had the best luck with that over the last 50 years. Tried the washers and the spray protectant and for me grease works best. If it's a AGM battery I've never used anything on the...

    Aircraft mechanic toolbox showing off

Been there and done that; spent 14 years working on Warbirds. For those, I had to have a set of BS wrenches for the Merlin, plus metric stuff for the Broussards. Also had all the specialty tools in the box; compression tester, fuel injection gauges, dimpling tools, Dzus tools and all that...
