You all wipe down your wrenches.. but..

I wipe down my tools when im done a job and clean them with brake clean or spray nine (apparently its so good it kills HIV, says so on the bottle) about once a month. Im a field mechanic thats always on the run, i cant spend an hour everyday polishing the tools i used that day. Lots of people...

Im a HD mechanic and have used brake clean on damn near every seal and gasket there is, including trans gaskets and seals and have never had a prob. I wouldnt hesitate to use it.

Fantastic, i really hope they gain a lot of market share up here Wright tools really are top notch and far too many people seem content with crappy import tools

    Wright tools Canada

The Tool Place in Kamloops BC has been selling Wright tools for years. Thats good news about a warehouse in Canada because it takes way too long to get ordered tools here. There used too be a second store in town (KMS Tools) that sold Wright tools but they switched to Proto as their pro brand...

    Help Cutting Train Track!

I stand corrected, i asked the track maintainers today and it is measured by the yard. GeorgiaHybrid and Hiball are both correct. Be sure to post pics of your finished anvil, i've been contemplating the idea of building one myself.

    Help Cutting Train Track!

Rail is determined by weight per foot. I work for CNRail and we run high speed passenger and heavy freight (class 1) thru the rockies on 136lb rail. I have never seen 150lb rail but im a mechanic who doesnt pay much attention to rail so there could be. I cut rail with a torch with a number 3...

Snap On "hot tools" monthly flyer

That bit set looks nice except I would rather have them on a rail, the case takes up too much room. Is that the chinese Snap On Hammer? I hope they dont sell any and it sends a message that Snap On needs to stay US made.

    Toptul CHJM1220 Curved Ratchet

I used to have that ratchet in 1/4" about 3 or 4 years ago under the brand name JET. I say "used to" because I threw it across the shop in a fit of rage when I couldn't change the direction with greasy/oily hands, I never bothered to go look for it again. The handle was kinda nice sometimes...

This may sound weird but what do you do?

Heavy Duty Field Mechanic for CN Rail. I've been turning wrenches professionally now for 4 years. ZING! That joke is funny every time. Not only do we have a very proffesional and skilled military but we have lost 138 of our bravest supporting Americas war on terror. Would a little respect be...

Who works out of a job box

Nice Pics Joe69, looks like you have a lot of tool storage there. I was expecting more posts in this thread, there must be other people with mobile rigs out there, things rarely breakdown in the shop. Im always interested to see how other people organize their trucks, im still in the process of...
