Found the solution here. http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=141717 I feel like an idiot now. This option is always on by default when you first set up a vBulletin forum. The admin/moderator must have changed it when they created the forum so that you have to turn it on yourself...

I am having the same issue. Been trying to PM my friend but have been unable to since I joined. I haven't tried it from my phone yet, but with a fresh install of Windows 7 and Firefox running no addons, I don't know what could be preventing messages from being sent besides the forum subapp.
