More bad news from Sears today

Some stores still have a good stock of USA tools but as those tools sell off they are being replaced with the Chinese/Taiwan stuff. I'm not sure how much all of our ranting will hurt their sales but it certainly can't help. I can't afford to go out and buy Truck Brand tools but I'm certainly...

More bad news from Sears today

X2 I've stuck with Sears over the years because they made pretty good tools that were made in the USA. I'm done with them. If you have a facebook account go over to the Craftsman page and let them know how you feel.

Whats the Next best deal to the HF 13 drawer box?

This box has been getting some good reviews. http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/tool-cabinets-and-carts/56-inch-11-drawer-industrial-roller-cabinet-67681.html

    HF or Craftsman tool chest?

You are right. The difference between craftsman and HF boxes is huge because the HF box is much better quality than the craftsman. After reading the reviews of the HF box on this forum and seeing a friends HF box loaded down with tools I sold my craftsman box and picked up the HF. The HF...

Ratchet wrenches - one way or reversible?

I bought my first set of ratcheting wrenches about 6 or 7 years ago. For me it came down to price and what I perceived as reliability. I compared the Gearwrench sets in both standard and selectable. I decided to go with the standard model because it was cheaper and had less parts to break...

Need help finding a toolbox for work

I agree if you are going to buy a truck brand box to look at craigslist and buy used but I wouldn't recommend a used Craftsman box over either of the HF boxes. I actually sold my Craftsman box which is similar to the link the OP listed but with the middle box as well for $350. Then I turned...

    Puma compressor

Same issue here but I'm in the Army. The other thing to consider when getting into the 60-80 gallon compressors is power source. You will not have a 230 power source in on post housing and if a landlord allows you to put it in a rental you will be paying out of pocket.

    Puma compressor

I'd like input on that compressor as well. I would love to have a larger 60 or 80 gallon version but right now I move every 3-4 years and don't want to deal with moving a larger compressor around.

Need help finding a toolbox for work

As mentioned above the 56" box from Harbor Freight is a great box. http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/tool-cabinets-and-carts/56-inch-11-drawer-industrial-roller-cabinet-67681.html If that's out of your budget range right now here is something a little smaller. This box gets rave reviews...

Craftsman 311 piece full socket set

Good find. I picked up the 299 pc set about six months ago. Otherwise I'd be all over this.

    Headlamps vs work lights?

Headlamp for me. I can't remember the last time I pulled out a work light. I have this one and it can be used as a flood or beam light. I have three or four different petzl lights and this is my favorite. http://www.rei.com/product/791313/petzl-tikka-xp-2-led-headlamp

Tools the forum got you to buy?

Wiha screw drivers Wera screw drivers Snap On dual 80 ratchets Craftsman premium ratchets HF 42" Tool Chest HF 5 drawer tool cart All were great purchases that I probably wouldn't have considered them if it weren't for this site.

    New giant craftsman tool box

The 3 year old box 26" Cman box I sold to buy the 42" HF box was nowhere near as nice as the HF box I have now. I think the only advantage the Cman box had over the HF box was the smooth, shiny red paint job.

Need Help! Looking for a tool set for my dad.

Those craftsman premium ratchets are great. I believe you can still buy them individually but the set isn't available anymore. I bought the entire set when they first came out and they have become my go to ratchets. My Snap On ratchets set in the drawer of my box now.
