    Doorbell transformer buzz

No. Do you suggest the problem could be somewhere else other than the transformer?

    Doorbell transformer buzz

We have the same buzzing issue. I have already replaced the transformer, but the other one does the same. I have looked careful and made sure everything around it's mount was tight too. But still buzzing. I did not want to spend more time on it as I already have, so I have disconnected it and...

Snap on Mt2500 red brick ?

Awesome info. Many thanks for taking the time and putting this together. I'm still using the brick for our 1999 GM vehicle, but I have already started plannig about upgrading, since we have added a new Chrysler vehicle in 2017.

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

I think I shouldn't dive much deeper into particular usage details, that may or may not happen and are in the future anyway. My main focus was on the proper connection of the garage to the house and that seem to have been answered already. I like to thank again for everyone for all the help...

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

The wiring is coming off an old 3 wire 240V 30 Amp washer/dryer connector, that is nearby and that has been sealed and relieved of it's function as such. 30 Amp however won't be enough to serve peak electricity needs of the garage.

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

The compressor is a 30 Gallon compressor, portable type by design. It is only going to use less than 30 Amps. So I hope a standard 30 Amp connector will do.

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

As far as resisting the sub-panel idea, like I have said: the 30 Amp line is ALREADY WAITING in the J box at the corner of the house. This is not a new construction where I have the luxury of designing the electrical system. We live in this house and I can't just tear up the walls to route a 50...

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

Yes, GFCI breaker is already in the plans. I will soon make some adjustments to the driveway and walkway layouts, which will include breaking the concrete at this location and replacing it with stone slabs. By that occasion I plan to lay the conduits with the corresponding wiring. Then the...

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

Many thanks for the explanations and again sorry for my perhaps stubborn asking. The house is very old with an old 100 Amp panel. The existing original old wiring is without ground, with ground being added here and there by the previous owner. So if we ever sell the house, all the electrical...

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

Got it! Sorry for asking, but is the code issue as it applies here just a minor violation or is there any real safety risk for running the wires as originally planned (in 2x separate conduits)? After all, the way I understand it, if the garage was attached, this would be OK. Plus this is an...

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

So what is this about the "feed"? I'm not sure I understand. Does that mean I can't have a 20 Amp line and a 30 Amp line going into the garage? Also, when I look up "feed", it seems to imply more serious power. So do my little 20A and 30A likes qualify as "feed"?

Outdoor Electrical Box - Is this correct?

This box is mounted on the side of our detached garage. It currently services a single set of wires carrying 110V 20A. I like to add a second conduit that would carry 220V 30A from the house to the garage. Can I just simply add a conduit with the corresponding 30A wiring? OR this is...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

I like to add that apparently a good number of the current cel phone module reporting happens over 3g. However with the retirement of 3g system, these modules will become obsolete and no longer working. Check for corresponding online articles in this regard. In our case the control panel has a...

    Auto Batteries

Thanks for the pointer. I have missed the jumper wire part. My bad! Although, I must say as far as for my part, I'm done with trying to measure parasitic draw at the battery terminal. I already blew 2x fuses of my multimeter and I'm actually thankful that my multimeter still works. Plus it...

    Auto Batteries

Yes and I have tried this before and it blew the fuse of my meter. Apparently, as soon as I hook up the battery, some things that have a high amp draw come alive. This is evident by the sparks too, when the battery terminal is removed. Vehicle is a 1999 Tahoe with an aftermarket alarm.
