Need suggestions for transmission floor jacks

Okay, I just weighed mine and it's exactly 70 pounds with the handle. So heavier than I thought, but still a little lighter than the HF spec sheet. It really feels more like 50 pounds to me. About the same as a bag of dog food or fertilizer, which I buy in 50 pound bags.

Need suggestions for transmission floor jacks

The smaller one is definitely not 70 or 75 lbs. I can weigh mine for you, but I don't think it's even 50 lbs.

Need suggestions for transmission floor jacks

I have that same low profile Harbor Freight transmission jack and I like it a lot. I used it to remove the manual transmission from my Audi without any issues at all. And FWIW, the manual transmission on my Audi is huge and heavy because my Audi is quattro and the transmission contains the front...

    Please advise, diagnostic tools.

Well, I can tell you that I've been using the apps I mentioned for at least 5 years on both the Audi and the Jeep. Since I interface them on my phone or my tablet, there's nothing else to buy. And they keep adding functionality to them over time, so that's a plus too. For example, they recently...

    Please advise, diagnostic tools.

Depending upon just how much functionality you want, there are inexpensive apps that will do like 95% or more of the stuff that even some factory scan tools can do. Yes, Ross Tech is a good tool in the VW/Audi world, but you can also use something like OBDeleven or even Carista to do all kinds...

Moisture or mold under Racedeck or Swisstrax?

My garage floor is pitched a few degrees towards the doors, so water drains out from under my RaceDeck tiles. That said, even with melted snow and slush all over the floor, I've never experienced any kind of mold issues. The tiles circulate tons of air since it's such an open design.

    Inflation reduction act

All of the "expensive" EVs are excluded anyway. There's a $55K cap on sedans and an $80K cap on trucks and SUVs. That doesn't leave much beyond the more basic EVs. The only Teslas that are under the cap are the base Model 3 and the Model Y (since it's classified as an SUV, even if it's really...

Has anyone seen a tool truck recently? - August 2022.

Passed a Snap-On truck twice last week on the road. But before that, I hadn't seen one for quite a while.

    Shop lights

When my house was built 6 years ago, I put LED bulbs in every light fixture in the house. That includes a bunch of 4' LED shop lights surface mounted to my garage ceiling (12 of them). It also includes all the outdoor lighting and the landscape lighting. So basically, every single light in my...

    Generator and ECM fan motors

Yeah, I didn't look at the specs to be honest. I just linked the first Hyper Sure Start I found with an image. I'll for sure have to make sure I choose the correct one though. Actually, two of them since I have two units.

Can Polyurethane Rubber Durometer 75A be machined?

I dont' know, but I can tell you that I had a tire shaved and it was far from a nice finish on the surface of the tire. I believe an average car tires has about the same hardness you mentioned.

    Generator and ECM fan motors

Yeah, hopefully. These same units are also marketed as "Generac Soft Starters" and I've seen them under a couple of different brand names. I like that they are compact and from what I've seen, most guys are mounting them right inside above the contactor.

    Generator and ECM fan motors

I'd most likely install one of these if I decide to go that route: https://www.electricgeneratorsdirect.com/Hyper-Engineering-SS1B16-32SN-V230/p99614.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1c3x-ey--QIVEyCtBh1CmwkvEAQYASABEgI9dvD_BwE

    Install my own generator?

Same here. We had a rare tornado in South Jersey last September. A house 700 feet from mine was completely wiped out, but my generator ran on it's natural gas for two days straight. I don't ever remember gas being turned off when I lived in NY either.
