I was able to find another quill/spindle on flea bay but the lower threads are kind of boogered up. Are these threads proprietary to this machine because they measure at 1/2-16, I don't have any dies that size and my small lathe doesn’t cut threads. I couldn’t any reference to that size either...

It’s too damaged for shortening, I’ve thought about getting one made but believe the cost would be prohibitive. It would have to be a ground shaft, saw another shaper about 3 hours away with the stand for $100 but the round trip and gas would be hard to justify.

Thanks, I was thinking that right after I posted that but didn’t have time to ask. The original paperwork came with it just haven’t found any parts for sale. Other than the quill spindle it’s in very good condition. I’ll look under the KS name, any ideas on interchangeabiLife with newer shapers?

I need some help trying to find a quill/spindle for my shaper #39310. My threads are mangled making it unusable so I need to find one or not restore it. Can anybody help? Thanks, Bill
