Delta DP600 17” Drill Press - Parts Needed

Thanks! If your talking about the nut at the bottom of the quill, I used a punch and a small hammer. If that doesn’t work I’d add some heat and then let it cool before tapping it to avoid damaging the nut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Delta DP600 17” Drill Press - Parts Needed

Get the outlet and light installed. Also picked up an old Dorman tapping head to use with it. Haven’t had a chance to test it yet. I need to clean up the taper. It’s a little rough. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Delta DP600 17” Drill Press - Parts Needed

Thank you!!! And it drills!!! I’ve learned very quickly that 1 hp is plenty for a drill press. I also need some *********** clamps. None of my clamps are big enough to hold anything to the table. I did have to reverse the motor. I found an article on how to do that to a Delta repulsion...

I realize the paint is gone. I was more looking to just smooth the rough spots some abs try to polish it. It won’t be perfect, but I want it to be original. I have some Simichrome I may try. I just don’t want to ruin the remaining paint. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Motor cleaned and painted. Install and hopefully testing tomorrow. Any ideas what to do on the name plate? I wanted to help the oxidation on the aluminum without removing the paint. I’ve tried tooth brush and dish soap so far to remove the grime. I also opened the motor up. It is...

You and me both. Primed everything with a first coat. Ran out of primer. There is a spot on the head I couldn’t get in it’s current position. I also haven’t primed the top side of the table. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Me too. Trying to use every free minute I have to finish. I’m hoping within a week or two. I can work on it at lunch time when I work from home, but I am limited on evening work because my shop is under the bedrooms in our house and my son goes to bed pretty early. Sent from my iPhone using...
