    Wrench Advice

Yep, counter with 40-50 bucks.... 210-ish is high $210 goes pretty far for new s.a.e/mm mix wrench sets from different reputable brands. Spare wrenches always good, just would not pay that much for older mixed double size sets. Now if it was more comp!ete from from 5/16 to 1-1/4 and 6mm to...

"Gearwrenches" useful for much? Park Ratcheting Wrenches?

I own gearwrench ratchet wrenches mm and s.a.e and some duralast mm ratchet wrench. Grearwrench better ratchet wrench i believe. Only had to warranty one in years since owning them. Duralast ones well, finish is nice but they are fairly new and we will see.... Oh, use them all the time too

SK Tuff 1 ratchets, how are they?

I have a 3/8 tuff1 45175 ratchet. Been real good to me after 30 plus years and two kits later. Use the heck out of it cause it fit anywhere, and the fine and smooth action allowed ratcheting in confined space. They take ALOT of torque. Back around '98, I managed to twist the hex drive in the...

    Cheap metric wrench sets?

Evercraft from Napa is decent stuff. Lifetime warranty, good price and there is always a Napa around to buy some or warranty one. Could say the same about auto zone's wrenches, last set of ratchet wrenches I bought skipped 16mm size though. Tekton is good stuff, I would put it a step above...

New Icon Pliers Wrench Thoughts (and comparison to Knipex)

I would not know, I own zero knipex anything. I just know harbor freight if in stock, is painless for warranty. Not as convenient as when the roving tool truck came around but I manage without the truck now. Rarely do I ever have a tool fail also. I own a fair amount of the finest evercraft...

New Icon Pliers Wrench Thoughts (and comparison to Knipex)

I'm leaning towards icon now. Have a feeling warranty at harbor freight will be easier, if need be.

Recommend a Welder for Farm Shop

I ended up with two welders in my shop. And old monkey wards 'century' 240v stick welder. I forget the model number but it weighs a ton and welds like nobodies business on the thicker 1/2'' and up stuff. Picked it up for $50 from a co-worker, cleaned it up in and out, added a new ground clamp...

Where do you draw the line between 3/8" drive and 1/2" drive?

Automotive stuffs mostly 3/8 dr. Mixed with 1/4 dr. Exceptions being undercarrage items mostly 1/2dr. The farm equipment and other heavy equipment the gets the same with the mixers of 1/2 and 3/4dr stuff to boot. I guess my 'line' is fastener size. Anything under 16mm or 5/8 gets 3/8dr. Or...
