    Pole barn sweating

Thanks for all the help and advice guys, I quit using the propane heater, turned on my big fans and opened it up on a nice day, all dry now. Just gotta figure out which to go with the heat now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Woody's small pole barn build (24x26)

Well I couldn't wait anymore, had to pull the trucks in and see. Has a little more room than I thought, a little over 5' in length to play with. They won't be in there together very often, but definitely have more room than I thought with both trucks in. Plenty of room for the other things I...

Thank you, I definitely didn't know that about the open flame propane heaters. Makes sense, just wasn't thinking about that aspect of it.

    Pole barn sweating

Wow thanks for all the responses and suggestions guys. Really appreciate it! I killed the heater last night and in less than 24hrs it has made a huge difference, just opened the overhead door and the window to let the air draft through. Supposed to be warmer but rainy this week. May move my fans...

Same here, DC metal. I was really pleased with the building and the crew. So your insulation doesn't sweat? Makes me think maybe it is just due to the drying of the mud and the new concrete combined with the open flame heat. How do you heat yours?

I read your thread Famous, did DC build yours? I'm in Mt.Vernon. I have the same insulation as you I believe, just 1/2" instead of 3/4" We did have hot water and additive added to help cure the concrete do to cold temps coming, also has 6mil vapor barrier over compacted 53 base. The floor is...

    Pole barn sweating

I am having a sweating issue in a new barn. Construction on the building finished Dec 2nd and it was a mud mess inside so I ran heaters and fan to dry it out. On the 7th it was dry enough to start putting down the base rock and setting grade. We poured the concrete floor on the 12th. Pretty much...

You've got a sweet shop going, I just finished my structure and floor on my 24x26x9, it was as big as I could go where I live. Man I wish I could have all that extra depth, that would be awesome! Can't wait to see the progress

They will have access, but highly unlikely they'll need it as they have much bigger shops of their own  that being said I do some side work and wrenching. I used to pull in the Lucas Oil Pro-League 2.6 diesel class. Don't have the time to anymore but I still enjoy the sport and working on...

Thanks for the compliment! I wish we could've done everything ourselves but I needed something fairly quick and my schedule just didn't allow us to build the barn ourselves. But we have done everything else ourselves as well ill finish the rest myself too. Helps to have a Dad that knows a lot of...

Absolutely will my man, no problem. I understand the taking time, I saved for a bit for this before I started the project. Just takes time and goals, you'll get what you want one day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Woody's small pole barn build (24x26)

Well we poured concrete on Saturday, couldn't have asked for better weather, it was in the 70s! We started at 7 and had buggied all the concrete in by 8 and had the final burn in done by 230. Turned out really well. Did the saw cuts yesterday. Now just to finish the cure then seal it up and...

Another small update. Nothing to major. Floor grading and base rock all done and packed ready for the pour tomorrow morning. Doing 5-6" fiber reinforced slab sloped to the drain in the center. I'll post more tomorrow after the pour! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
