From the shape of the intercooler and the frame casting and the oil filler cap I think it is an Ingersol Rand model 7100 ?

Question on wiring 220v air compressor.

I think you mean 12/4 not 12/3. In a 12/3 cable you have a black (hot) wire, a white (neutral) wire, and a green (ground) wire. A 12/3 cable is for 120 volt 20 amp max tool. A 12/4 cable is the same as a 12/3 cable except there is an additional hot wire maybe red color. So the black wire and...

    Avanti 200t osb/plywood blade question

I think you are using a blade that has too many teeth for a 10 inch diameter cutting say 3/4 inch thick material - that's why you are feeling so much resistance while feeding. For a 10 inch diameter blade and 3/4 inch thick material I would suggest 60 or 40 teeth. Having a blade with 200 teeth...

    Quincy compressor question

I used to own a Quincy 5120 compressor and it had dual control - I can run it as start / stop or as continuous run ( it would pump up to a set psi and then a valve opens compression stops but the pump still runs and as the psi drops to a set psi the valve closes and compression resumes )...

plumbing an aftercooler in to an air compressor

I used to own a Quincy 5120 25 hp compressor and it had steel pipe with compression type connectors. It also had a check valve between the aftercooler and the pipe from the manifold which in turn was bolted to the heads of the exhaust high pressure.

    Air nailer plastic problems

I never had such problems as you described with air nailers , but I never owned a Porter Cable air nailer - mine are Senco, Hitachi, and Spotnails. I do own a Porter Cable tiger saw and used it very little. I store in the metal box it came with and the strain relief on the power cord became...

Where to find inexpensive heavy duty "bridge" C-clamps?

The c clamp in the picture is a heavy duty model droped forge steel type. They are also made in regular duty and medium duty. This is one reason why they are expensive. Cast c clamps are less expensive and they too are made in different weights. Also, the forged c clamps have heated treated...

    Chase Parker 974

I think you mean Chas (short for Charles) Parker. I have a Parker 804 1/2 and it does not have a washer behind the collar. It does have a few very thin washers under the main screw head to adjust the gap between the back side of the collar and the shoulder on the main screw head - to lessen...

Columbian Vises: history and reliability thread.

According to my 1970's Columbian vise catalog their machinst type vise were made of malleable iron not ductile iron like the Wiltons. The thickness of the malleable iron casting must max out at around 1/4 inch thick otherwise the atoms are sharp edged versus rounded edged. The hollow castings...

Dresser/Leroi air compressor, any body have any experience with these?

I had a Dresser/Leroi air compressor splash lube model for over 25 years and loved it. I also used own a Quincy QR 25 25 hp model with pressure lube and oil filter. I think the Leroi is a lot better. The piston ring on the Quincy broke only after a few years of use.

    Compressor motor swap help!!

    Oops! A 5 Hp 1740 RPM motor has a 186T frame right ?

    Compressor motor swap help!!

The motor mounts directly into threaded holes ? How would you make adjustments to the tension on the belts - as belts gets used they loose some tension and start to slip. Is there an idler pulley or the pump base itself is adjustable ?

    Compressor motor swap help!!

Since Emglo/Jenny said that model compressor can handle a 5 HP can you check if the bedplate holes or slots will match a 184T frame which is more common for a 5 Hp with a 1740 RPM. The larger frame motor would have a larger diameter shaft and a higher shaft axis - will the shaft clear the belt...

    Compressor motor swap help!!

If the pump stays the same, using a 5 HP alone would not increase the air output. You would also have to change to a larger diameter motor pulley. Also, what about the starter- a 5 HP motor will draw more amps.
