I made sure the have them grip the saw handle with both hands. I didn't want their fingers anywhere near the blade. That was a fear of mine, as well.

One thing to add....I was teaching them how to mark out each piece and saw some scraps using my Ryoba.

CLC tool belt and drill holster. I finally decided that I didn't want to keep climbing up and down a ladder or worry about dropping my drill/driver. Probably going to kick myself for not doing this sooner. I also ordered some terminals to keep in my electrical drawer.
