    Wyotech or UTI?

A few months ago I hired a guy with ten years experience and fired him within the first month due to incompetence. Apparently experience in an actual shop is worthless too… … or maybe it’s all up to the individual to decide if they want to be useful or worthless and things like education and...

    Wyotech or UTI?

They were pretty much ruined by Corinthian colleges after selling out and they ended up shutting down. Then one of the old instructors at the original Laramie, WY location bought the rights and reopened it across town and has turned it back into a top notch school, even better than it was before...

My gripe with youtube tool reviews

Of course not, but you may find yourself with a cheater bar on a ratchet trying to break loose a 70 year old pinion nut. Or you may not. I at least like how he tries to make an even playing field with objective tests.

My gripe with youtube tool reviews

Check out Project Farm. He does all objective testing on all kinds of tools, oils, gloves, etc.

Who has a toilet in shop or at least a sink

I’d love running water in my shop, but not enough to spend the money adding it after the fact.

    Modify a drywall lift?

I haven’t modified one, but I did put it in the back of my tiny little ‘83 Toyota to achieve the height needed to do the ceiling in a shop.

    End Mills wanted which brand?

I rarely ever use a 2 flute mill. Mostly I use 4 flute although for some jobs it's as much as 7 flutes. 2 flute is good for softer materials, like aluminum.

    End Mills wanted which brand?

At work I run solid carbide for endmills and on larger stuff I use indexable (insert style) feed and shoulder mills depending on the job. On a weekly basis I run as small as 1/8" endmill up to 8" shoulder/facing mills and drills between 1/2" and 3" diameter. Any drill over 1/2" is indexable...

Circular saw. What isn’t cheap consumer grade?

For a corded saw I’m quite pleased with the current Makita 5008MGA model with the magnesium plate and electric brake. This is the one I have: Makita 5008MGA 8-1/4" Magnesium Circular Saw, with Electric Brake https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001ASHL8A/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    tool loan to friend

I only have three actual friends and I’d loan them anything I own in a heartbeat. I’ve loaned my expensive motorcycles, new truck, 5th wheel toy hauler, tools, guns, house, etc to them in the past and would again. It’s just “stuff” and in no way would I hold it against them if something...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

That’s a cool tach! Hopefully you heal well and can get back to enjoying your time in the shop.

    Milwaukee Cordless Circular Saw?

The non-FUEL has a sheet metal base and the FUEL has a more precise magnesium base. That was the reason I went with the more expensive FUEL version when I bought mine.
