    Field Service Technician Thread

Cool job! I bet you get to see some sweet views. I work as an instrument tech so I may have to use a similar approach, since my toolbag weighs like 50lb. Not that I have weighed it, but it is heavy!! Someday when I can run a truck. Not worried right now, though. Working union and all tools...

    Field Service Technician Thread

If I could think of a custom toolbag I'd like to have it would be the Veto XL but make it taller without adding anything but the space above the tool pouches. This would allow me to add some custom pouches or mounts for certain tools.

    best day ever!

If you're that happy now I can't wait to see how happy you'll be when you actually get the tool! :D

    Acceptable quality snap ring pliers

I've been eying the ChannelLock circlip pliers for a while now. Only brand I've seen in person besides some uber cheap ones at Princess Auto for $5 but I'd never buy those.

How Often Do You Break Tools?

Although I've only been tooling for a few years the only tool I have ever broken was an Imperial Eastman 1/2" tube bender. I broke the pin on the turnable handle so the handle wouldn't stay on. When they were sent in for repairs they always come back pooched. Cheap tool. I doubt a Swagelok tube...

    Opinions on ChannelLock Brand

I have one pair and love them. I know a bunch of Electricians who love them. While the post above downplays the value of their adjustable wrench I know a few who love them and the play in them is less than others. Maybe he got a bad one. I want to get one for myself. Their prices are really...

Zt2112, I'd recommend you take your email out of that post and send it by PM. There are many spambots that scan forums for emails that they can spam.

I know they exist but I don't know what to call them

Those are them. Thanks for the find. Joke is I worked 2 minutes walking distance from the Edmonton store for 3 years and never knew it existed until now! Didn't need tools on that job, lol. Thanks again.

I know they exist but I don't know what to call them

Well my Amazon coupons turned out to be no good. $18.20 for the adapter 3 pack and over $17 for shipping (I'd get it in 7-11 days) is what they want for this set, so I am not buying it from Amazon. (was a 3rd party seller too, obv) If shipping was at all reasonable I'd've bought it. After a...

I know they exist but I don't know what to call them

I was just thinking about these, since I work out of a bag and soon I'll have to get a secondary box. Joy for me is I have $50 in Amazon coupons so I get em for free!

    C clamp junkies?

I am not a big fan of conventional C clamps but I love my pair of vise grip C clamps. In my trade I have to work off a ladder a lot so getting the piece clamped in place quickly is ideal. They are life savers! I see some very nice C clamps ITT.

    Ratcheting wrenches

I carry a full set of Flex Gearwrenches in my toolbag and only carry normal wrenches for 13/16" to 15/16". I don't carry larger wrenches in the bag. While working on gas wells and other oilfield sites don't usually have that restrictive of spaces, these wrenches are extremely helpful in...

    Show your adjustable wrenches!

Here is mine: The horizontal ones all go in my toolbag and the Stanley is a spare in case I lose a 6" wide jaw. The Husky doesn't have a wide jaw (I like having my 6" wrenches go past 7/8") and the Pro-Point (far left) is soft metal and not very useful. The rubber handled Mastercrafts all...
